On 24 February 2023, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SCIAHK, SCIA and the Small and Medium Law Firms Association in Hong Kong (SAMLAW) was held at the SCIAHK on the 57/F, Two International Financial Centre (2ifc) in Central, HK. Mr. Anthony Neoh, Chairman of the Board of SCIAHK; Mr. Xiaochun Liu, President of SCIA; Ms. Maggie Man-ki Chan, Founding President of SAMLAW of HK, delivered speeches and jointly signed the MOU on behalf of the three institutions. Mr. Cheung Kwok-kwan, Deputy Secretary for Justice of Department of Justice of HKSAR, Ms. Yumei Zhang, Deputy Minister of Legal Department of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, Ms. Elsie Leung, Director of SCIAHK and other council members of SCIA witnessed the signing of the MOU. More than 50 professionals from the legal and business sectors of Hong Kong participated in the event and had in-depth exchanges with representatives of the three institutions.
According to the MOU, SCIAHK, SCIA and SAMLAW will establish a closer cooperation relationship with complementary advantages and resource sharing, jointly promote the convergence of rules and the connection of mechanisms in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, provide better, more efficient and convenient services for domestic and foreign parties, and jointly promoting "Shenzhen+Hong Kong" to build a global international arbitration highland.
