SCIAHK participated in the visit of the Guangdong Province Law Society delegation to the International Commercial Court of the Paris Court of Appeal and the Paris Commercial Court

     On 26 May 2023, South China International Arbitration Center HK (SCIAHK) participated in the visit of the delegation of the Guangdong Province Law Society and the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) to the International Commercial Court of the Paris Court of Appeal (ICCP-CA) and the Paris Commercial Court.

     Ms. Fabienne Schaller, judge of the International Commercial Court of the Paris Court of Appeal, and Mr. Paul-Louis Netter, president of the Paris Commercial Court, introduced the situation of international commercial trials in Paris to the Guangdong delegation. Dr. YUAN Gujie, President of the Guangdong Province Law Society and head of the delegation introduced the development of international investment and trade between China and France, as well as the construction of an internationalized business environment under the rule of law and marketization in Guangdong Province. China and France jointly discussed cooperation in the field of international commercial dispute resolution.

     Mr. ZHANG Qinghong, Vice President of the Guangdong Province Law Society, Mr. SUN Taiping, President of the Guangzhou Law Society, and Dr. LIU Xiaochun, Executive Chairman of the SCIAHK and President of the SCIA, participated in interviews and attended the forum.

    The International Commercial Court of the Paris Court of Appeal and the International Commercial Court of the Paris Commercial Court were established in 2018 and 1995 respectively. They maintained close interaction and cooperation with China in the field of international commercial dispute resolution. In 2018, in order to try international commercial cases in a timely and fair manner in accordance with the law, equally protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and foreign parties, and create a stable, fair, transparent, and convenient business environment ruled by law, the Supreme People's Court established the First and Second International Commercial Courts in Shenzhen and Xian respectively. On 22 May 2019, the Sino-French Symposium on International Commercial Trial was held in Beijing. The judge delegation of the Paris Court of Appeal and the Commercial Court have exchanged practical experiences of the two countries on the resolution of international commercial disputes with the representatives from the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China, the International Commercial Court, SCIAHK, SCIA and other international arbitral institutions.
