SCIA & SCIAHK Dual Qualification Advanced Training Program in International Commercial Mediation—jointly organized by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA, also known as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Arbitration Center) and South China International Arbitration Center (Hong Kong) (SCIAHK)—was held from 26 to 28 April 2026, in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Led by renowned international dispute resolution expert Kenneth Cloke, the training featured a team of mediation specialists from the United States and Hong Kong. The lecturers delivered instruction focusing on advanced techniques in international commercial mediation, including language management, emotional dynamics, and interest balancing, complemented by in-depth theoretical sessions and practical simulation exercises. The program is endorsed by the Hong Kong Bar Association, the Law Society of Hong Kong, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Arbitration and Mediation Alliance.
The training were conducted at two venues: SCIA Tower in Shenzhen and Two IFC (SCIAHK's headquarters) in Central, Hong Kong. The training programme attracted a diverse cohort of professionals, including arbitrators, mediators, barristers, solicitors, in-house counsel, and academics from Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and from the overseas. Over three days of immersive English training, combining lectures with hands-on simulations, participants significantly enhanced their practical skills in international commercial mediation and diversified dispute resolution. Graduates were awarded SCIA & SCIAHK Dual Certification certificate. They are now eligible for priority inclusion in the SCIA & SCIAHK Panel of Recommended Mediators and will have opportunities to participate in future mediation practice activities held by SCIA and SCIAHK.
