On 20 March, the South China International Arbitration Center (HK) (SCIAHK) and the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) co-hosted the 2026 SCIA&SCIAHK Spring Reception in Hong Kong. The event brought together over 100 representatives from the legal and business communities in Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong, as well as international arbitration professionals. Participants focused on deepening legal cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, jointly exploring ways to build a premier destination for international dispute resolution, and forging a consensus on creating a first-class business environment in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area that is market-oriented, governed by the rule of law, and internationalized.
The Spring Reception was hosted by Dr. Xiaochun Liu, Executive Chairman of SCIAHK and President of SCIA, and Mr. Huen Wong, Executive Chairman of SCIAHK and Council Member of SCIA. Mr. Paul Lam, Secretary for Justice of the HKSAR, and Dr. Anthony Neoh, Chairman of the SCIAHK Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of SCIA Council, attended the event and delivered speeches. Subsequently, the SCIAHK Board of Directors, together with the SCIA Council and executive management team, joined guests from the International Organization for Mediation, the Judiciary of Hong Kong, the Law Society of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Bar Association, the Hong Kong Competition Commission, China Legal Services (Hong Kong) Limited, and Hong Kong higher education institutions in extending New Year greetings to the attendees.

Leveraging the cross-border collaboration mechanism of the "Twin Cities, Two Centers", SCIAHK and SCIA shall fully harness the advantages of the "Hong Kong + Shenzhen" dual-platform model to continuously advance the alignment of rules and institutional innovation, thereby providing more efficient and convenient institutional safeguards for the resolution of cross-border commercial disputes. As 2026 marks the "APEC China Year," the "Twin Cities, Two Institutions" initiative will actively leverage its unique role in facilitating cross-border international arbitration to proactively serve the broader national strategy of high-level opening-up. By deepening exchanges and cooperation with the legal and business communities in the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and internationally, SCIAHK and SCIA will continue to enhance China’s voice and influence in the field of international dispute resolution, provide robust legal support for economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region, and help foster a more stable, fair, and transparent international business environment.
